Wine Now, Run Later!

Last month, we had the pleasure of dining at Chima Philadelphia, as part of a promotion featuring their Rodizío dinner. As expected, the service, food, and cocktails were outstanding. Mid-way through dinner, we ran into some friends of ours and ended up joining our reservations together…because the more the merrier!

Apart from the great service, food, and cocktails, we were reminded of the importance of community. After both navigating hectic periods in our lives individually, it was great to have an evening to connect with friends, to laugh and enjoy each other’s company. During dinner, we reflected on 2018, and what an adventure it’s been. We thought back to some of our previous posts such as “Reclaiming Our Time”, and the importance of not staying in environments that no longer serve and honor you. We thought about “Be Well Sparkle Often” and how imperative it is to listen to yourself, and take the time to, address and process situations in healthy ways.

Between the laughter and stories, we feasted on unlimited rounds of Brazilian inspired food all evening. We started off with the unlimited salad bar, which arguably could be its own meal! If you know us, then you know that we also had to indulge in one (or two) of their signature cocktails. The white sangria was definitely a table favorite that night.

While at dinner, we were also afforded the opportunity to visit Chima’s wine room, which was such a cool experience for us both. See some of our photos below!

Our pairing for this month is a Rodizío Sangria, which we can’t get enough of! Although sangria leans slightly sweet, you can taste the burst of citrus and hint of brandy, which warms and rounds out the flavor.

Rodizío Sangria

  • 1 orange wedge (1/8 cut, seeded)
  • 1 lemon wedge (1/8 cut, seeded)
  • 1 lime wedge (1/8 cut, seeded)
  • 1 oz. simple syrup
  • 1 oz. brandy
  • Splash Triple Sec (orange liqueur)
  • Splash melon liqueur
  • 1/3 cup Guarana Antarctica
  • Wine (red or white)

In a mixing glass, add the lemon, lime, orange and simple syrup. Gently muddle it. Top the glass with ice and pour the brandy, Triple Sec and melon liqueur. Shake well and transfer it into a 22 oz. Cervoise Glass. Once again, top the glass with ice. Top glass with red or white wine. Garnish with an orange and cherry canoe. Stir it before drinking.

I’ll Drink to That!

On July 6th, we hosted our official launch event in Old City Philadelphia. The event brought together wine enthusiasts, local influencers, family and friends. Without a doubt, the evening lived up to our name; it was full of humor, good wine, and everything fine!

Throughout the event, we were able to share our inspiration for the blog, revisit some of our favorite posts thus far, and play trivia games based on those posts. One memorable moment was the two of us talking through our experience writing “You Had Me at Merlot,” and reliving our unique dating experiences- everyone had a good laugh!

On a more serious note, we discussed our desire to ensure that we use our platform to address socially relevant topics, such as the destigmatization of mental health, and equity for women, which we covered in “Be Well Sparkle Often,” and “Resist with Rosé,” respectively.

The evening consisted of 5 sweet wine tastings, light fare, great conversation and gifts. Some of the highlights include the great descriptions of the wine we tasted, one being described as “rays of sunshine in a bottle.” We were even gifted The Wine Club: A Month-by-Month Guide to Learning about Wine with Friends by Maureen Christian Petrosky from one of our guests. We cannot wait to break the book open, and try some of the pairings!

The event achieved our goal to create a space for individuals to connect around life, occasional humor, and excellent wine. We are excited for future posts, events, and other endeavors– including expanding our merchandise!

Speaking of merchandise, at the launch, we released our signature t-shirt, which can be purchased here on our website!

If you are interested in partnering on future events or having us attend your events please email us at Thank you again to everyone who came out to celebrate and drink with us! We hope you had a great time, and can’t wait to see more of you at upcoming events! Stay tuned…

This month’s wine pairing is Outlot Wines’ 2016 Sauvignon Blanc. Outlot Wines shares that “sumptuous flavors, perfect sized berries, and abundant natural acidity all colluded to make this a great vintage wine.” Tasting notes below!

“Pale straw in color with green hue, the Outlot Sauvignon Blanc has a potent bouquet of citrus blossoms, passionfruit and fresh basil. Medium bodied on the palate, with vibrant tropical fruit, lemongrass, tangelo, and melon flavors. Notes of plumeria, white peach, lychee fruit and guava linger on the finish.”
